Bowling Legend Anthony Dies At Age 63

One of the greatest stars in the history of sports passed away. Earl Anthony, an American Bowling Congress and Professional Bowlers Association Hall of Famer, died in New Berlin, Wisconsin (suburban Milwaukee) while visiting with friends.
Anthony, 63, was found dead at the bottom of a flight of stairs around 8:30 a.m., Aug. 14, the cause of death was from a fall down the stairs. He was staying at a friend's house and anticipating a round of golf today.
Anthony was named as the best bowler of the 20th century when readers of Bowling Magazine voted him as the "Master of the Millennium."
"On behalf of the American Bowling Congress, and bowlers across the world, we offer our condolences to Earl's family," American Bowling Congress Executive Director Roger Dalkin said. "The sport has lost a true champion and a great friend."
Anthony had retired from competition and was the proprietor of Dublin (Calif.) Bowl near his home in Cornelius, Ore.
