ABC/WIBC Joint Diversity Committee Looking For Volunteers
1/05/2001 - Bowling Newsline
The American Bowling Congress/Women's International Bowling Congress Joint Diversity Committee is seeking volunteers to visit local and state/provincial associations and spread the message of creating diversity among members.
The committee was created to build awareness and sensitivity to the unique similarities and differences of people in order to diversify the membership and leadership of the ABC and WIBC.
The committee is looking for strong presenters who can commit to traveling three to four weekends a year to visit and present diversity related issues to associations. Preferences will be given to those candidates familiar with diversity issues.
Interviews will take place Feb. 2, 2001 in Atlanta. All travel arrangements will be made by Bowling Headquarters. Volunteers will receive training March 17, 2001, at the ABC Convention in Reno, Nev.
Those interested in volunteering should contact ABC Operations Manager Pete Dargiewicz (800-514-2695, extension 3216 or by e-mail at [email protected]) or WIBC Director of Services Shelia Nyren (800-514-2695, extension 3256 or by e-mail at [email protected].)
