Kim Adler Rolls First 800 Series By A Woman On Sport Bowling Conditions
06/19/2001 - Bowling Newsline
Kim Adler, Cocoa, Fla., became the first woman to bowl an 800 series on the American Bowling Congress/Women's International Bowling Congress Sport Bowling lane condition June 12 in the Professional Women's Bowling Association Wheelchair Awareness Classic in Mesa, Ariz.
Adler's first career 800 series, an 823, included 234, 289 and 300 games. The 11-year pro became the second professional woman bowler to roll a perfect game on the Sport Bowling condition, joining Dede Davidson, Las Vegas.
The PWBA utilized the Sport Bowling condition at four national tournament stops, the St. Clair Classic, Miller High Life Open, Albuquerque Open and Wheelchair Awareness Classic.
In an effort to place more emphasis on shot-making skills and improve the overall ability of each bowler, the ABC and WIBC have jointly implemented the optional Sport Bowling program.
It consists of sanctioned leagues and tournaments conducted on more challenging lane conditions than those found in standard leagues or tournaments.
