Hi, my name is Jeff Piroozshad. I work for USA Bowling/Team USA as the Director of Tournaments and Technology and live in Colorado Springs, Colorado, but I am originally from Brooklyn, NY. I still love the city of New York. You know what they say. You can take the boy out of New York, but you can't take the New York out of the boy.
I've been bowling ever since I was 3 years old. In 1993 I was the New York City Iron Horse winner. The Iron Horse is awarded to the best senior athlete in each high school sport in the city. I led my high school team to a 32-0 regular season record in my three years on the team, and we advanced to the city quarterfinals twice. I was the anchor bowler and coach for the University of Miami Bowling Team while I attended the University of Miami School of Law and was named the 2000 Collegiate Bowler of the Year. College Bowling is an awesome experience and I urge all youth bowlers out there to try it if they have the chance.
In 1995 I was asked to join the staff of Dick Ritger's Bowling Camps. I've been teaching at the Ritger Camps for the last five years and have been extremely fortunate to have had that opportunity. I have met about 2,000 people from not only this country, but many overseas nations as well. It's an experience I wouldn't trade for anything. I've learned many different teaching techniques from Mr. Ritger and the rest of the camp staff, and I hope to do all I can to help bowlers everywhere improve as much as possible.
The sport of bowling has been very good to me over the last twenty-four years and helping others improve is the best way I can think of to give back to the sport that has given me so much.
