 George Freeman's Expert Bowling Tips
New Bowling Balls 12/29/1999 - By George Freeman
I'm sure many of us received a new bowling ball (or balls), for Christmas. If Santa was kind enough to grace you with a new ball, remember a couple important things:
1. If you bowl in a competitive league, a "money" league, don't go out and try to use your new piece of hardware without taking it on the lanes for practice. You may have had it drilled for a specific reaction, but every bowling ball is different, and you should take the time to learn the nuances of your new ball, so there are no surprises when you get in competition.
2. If your hand fluctuates a lot due to weather or other conditions, think about getting some tape for your thumb hole, you can add tape if your hand tends to shrink, or remove it when it swells. Sandpaper is good to have handy to smooth the insides of the hole to get the proper fell you are looking for.
