 George Freeman's Expert Bowling Tips
Bowling Etiquette 03/20/2001 - By George Freeman
Bowling is a game that can be enjoyed by everyone. However, like most other sports, bowling is a game most enjoyed when it flows smoothly. Here are some tips to make sure your night at the lanes goes off without a hitch.
Try to stay in your area. Many times bowlers tend to wander off. They go talk to their friends, or look to see how someone is bowling that they have in a jackpot. When they aren't back when it is their turn to bowl, it slows the entire pair down. The groove that was established is now broken, and people have a habit of getting irritated when bowlers are constantly not ready when it is their turn.
Keep one ball on the rack. There is a limited space on the ball returns for bowling balls, and in a five-person team league, there are already ten bowling balls on the rack. Most ball returns do not hold many more than that, so if you use a spare ball, keep it off the return until you need it. Once it is used, make sure to get it off the rack so that other bowlers won't have to reach up into the ball return itself to get their bowling ball.
Bowling is fun, but no one wants to be at the lanes for three hours for their league night. Be courteous to other bowlers, and everyone will have a great time.
