Appropriate Online Content And Discussion Guidelines
We reserve the right to remove content that does not meet our discussion standards. BowlingFans.com does not assume any liability if such content is not removed, and makes the final determination about whether content is objectionable or not. BowlingFans.com does not endorse or oppose opinions expressed by our visitors. Visitors who generate content in chat rooms and message boards, etc, that does not meet our discussion standards shall be removed. Serious offenses will result in removal of access.

      These guidelines apply:
  • Minimum Age:
You must be at least 14 years old to participate in any part of BowlingFans.com.

  • Identity - Real Names & Nicks:
Your legal first and last name must be provided upon registration on the BowlingCommunity.com Message Board. You may utilize the Public Display Name feature to publicly display a nick name or alias in place of your real name as long as the entire real name is present and the Public Display name conforms to our other standards. You may use a nick name or another alias in the chat room as long as it conforms to our other standards.

You may not use public display names or nicks on the message board, chat, or private message system that are offensive to the topic or impersonates or represents any person or entity in an attempt to deceive, harass or otherwise mislead another member. Additionally, you may not use or represent the name of any public figures or an employee or representative of BowlingFans.com or any of the usrbingeek LLC family of companies, or affiliates.

  • Language:
Very mild expletives and non-sexual anatomical references may be allowed in some contexts, but profanity, strong vulgar language, crude, lewd or explicit sexual references and hate speech -- harsh personal insults and epithets directed against any race, religion, ethnic origin, gender or sexual preference -- are not allowed even if disguised with asterisks or other text and characters.

  • Personal Attacks:
Personal attacks not allowed. "Personal attacks" are defined as comments that reflect upon a person instead of their opinion.

  • Sex/Sensuality:
There is a difference between affection and vulgarity. There is also a difference between a discussion of the health or emotional aspects of sex using appropriate language and more crude conversations about sex. The former is acceptable, the latter is not.

  • Disruptive Behavior:
Please stay on topic and restrict your comments to the subject at hand. Refrain from "spamming," or "flooding" or the repeated posting of the same message over and over. You may not transmit or facilitate distribution of content that is harmful, abusive, racially or ethnically offensive, vulgar, sexually explicit, or in a reasonable person's view, objectionable. Hate speech will not be tolerated.

  • Personal Information:
You may not share any personal information or information about others -- phone numbers, e-mail, home address, passwords, etc.-- with others on the site. Any such message board posts will be removed without comment. Chat participants may be restricted from using the chat system. This is for your protection!

No speculation about the identity of other participants is permitted. You may not attempt to harvest or collect member information including, but not limited to, Public Display Names, passwords, or e-mail addresses.

  • Advertising & Commercial Purposes:
No advertising of any kind, including those for non-profit organizations, is permitted in areas not specifically designated as an Advertising Area. BowlingFans.com's BowlingCommunity.com may not be used for commercial purposes. This includes but is not limited to unsolicited advertising, promotional materials, "junk mail", "spam", "chain letters", "pyramid schemes" or any other form of solicitation. You may not post links for any type of affiliate program with referrer IDs.

Even in the designated advertising areas all messages must be of a non-commercial nature. You may not advertise and/or promote the sale of products on BowlingCommunity, including, without limitation: new bowling balls, new bowling bags, bowling accessories, apparel, cleaners, and other products that are used by bowlers. Please carefully read the guidelines posted in the designated Advertising Area for further restrictions and exceptions to the Advertising & Commercial Purpose Standards.

  • Online Pro Shops:
You may not recommend or otherwise discuss online pro shops. It has been our experience that some of the online pro shops often misrepresent the equipment they sell, the terms of the sale, or in some cases even fail to deliver any goods at all. Posts including prices of equipment and web addresses or other contact information for online pro shops will be edited or removed.

  • Linking Policy:
Please be careful clicking hyperlinks. You use the Internet at your own risk and BowlingFans.com cannot be responsible for the content and conduct you may encounter. You may not post or discuss hyperlinks or web sites used for advertising Pro Shops, other message boards, or any other Community Standards violation.

  • Images:
In most cases we do not allow the posting of images in message boards or chat with exception to the smilies we provide. You may not use our community to distribute, facilitate to distribute, or direct link to any content that solicits for exchange, sale or purchase of sexually explicit images, and/or material harmful to minors; including, but not limited to, any photograph, film, video, or picture or computer generated image or picture (actual or simulated.)

  • Copyrighted Material:
No copyrighted material is allowed. Please use links instead of quotes. You may not use our community to distribute, facilitate distribution, or direct link to any content that infringes anyone else's intellectual property rights, including, but not limited to, any copyright, trademark, rights of publicity, rights of privacy, or other proprietary rights.

  • Format:
No oversize fonts, JavaScript, tables, headings or other advanced HTML commands are allowed. Please use only bold and italics to emphasize your points on the message board. Even though you have the ability to utilize color and advance text formatting in the chat, we prefer standard black text with a white background be used.

  • Malware, Hacking, & Cracking:
You may not post, distribute, or link to software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to capture information, interrupt, destroy, and/or limit the functionality of any computer software and/or hardware or telecommunications equipment. You may not attempt to circumvent any security features and/or exploit any weaknesses in computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment.

  • Collection Of Information:
You may not attempt to copy, reproduce, create derivative works from, harvest, or collect posts or member information (including, but not limited to, Public Display Names, passwords, or e-mail addresses.)

  • Illegal Behavior:
The laws that apply in the offline world must be obeyed online. We have zero tolerance for illegal behavior in BowlingFans.com's BowlingCommunity.com. We cooperate with law enforcement on such matters.

  • Automatic Censor:
The message board and chat may automatically censor certain words and web addresses from being posted. This censoring is not an exact science, however, so certain words may be censored out of context. Please realize that the censoring is being done by a computer based on the words that are being screened. Words that are censored are replaced with asterisks. Never attempt to circumvent the censor filter.

  • Proper Online Conduct:
Online conduct should be guided by common sense and basic etiquette. You will be considered in violation of the Community Standards if you violate any of the standards outlined above.
