-Coaches Association Offers Liability Insurance

12/20/2002 - Bowling Newsline
GREENDALE, Wis. - Providing certified bowling coaches with an increased benefit package is the purpose behind the formation of the USA Bowling Coaching Program's Coaches Association.

Certified coaches with the Young American Bowling Alliance Level I or II or USA Bowling are eligible to join the Coaches Association for only a $50 annual fee.

The signature benefit of the association is a $1 million liability insurance plan. The insurance only is available to coaches living in the United States, Canada or Puerto Rico and is good from Feb. 1, 2003 until Feb. 1, 2004. To take full advantage of this policy, Coaches Association fees must be submitted to USA Bowling Coaching by Jan. 15, 2003.

"One important benefit that many coaches have asked about over the years is liability insurance," USA Bowling Director of Coaching Bob Maki said. "We have found a carrier and we are able to include a $1 million liability coverage policy as part of the annual fee. The insurance experts tell me if you were able to find this coverage that we are offering it would cost you at least $250 per year."

Other benefits of belonging to the Coaches Association include a one-year subscription to the USA Coach newsletter and discounts on bowling merchandise from Master Industries and Storm Products Inc. Coaches also can purchase the "Advance Adjustments" package. This set, which includes a book, a video or CD, and three audio tapes on the mental game, features Team USA Head Coach Fred Borden, Junior Team USA Head Coach Jeri Edwards and Professional Bowlers Association star and former Team USA member Chris Barnes.

For more information call (800) 514-BOWL, Ext. 3382 or visit the new coaching section of bowl.com on the Web.
