-Women's U.S. Open Scheduled For 2003

      Rockford, Ill - The Professional Women's Bowling Association President John Falzone announced today the 2003 Women's U.S. Open Bowling Championship has been scheduled for May 24 thru June 1. The PWBA is in the process of entertaining proposals from several prospective venues and cities.

      The U.S. Open finals will kick off the first of seven consecutive Sundays where PWBA action will be televised live on ESPN in a 90-minute time slot.

      Last year Kim Terrell, Antioch, Calif. made U.S. Open history when the nine-time titlest defeated Wendy Macpherson, Henderson, Nev. 234-220 in the championship match and took home a first place check worth $55,000 - the largest ever in a women's pro bowling event.
