***** Holiday-Shortened Edition *****
We hope you had your fill of turkey and the trimmings, and found the perfect parking place at the mall. Due to the holiday, we bring you a condensed version of Kegler's Connection. The Bowling Forum wishes you a happy holiday season.
***** GSTDs Give Thanks ****
This week GSTD stands for Grand Stand Thanksgiving Day, an in honor of Thanksgiving, the folks at the Bowling Forum share their thoughts with you:
GSTDRage: I'm thankful my Pink Hammer made it to Reno and back home again safely, and thankful that I didn't make a total fool of myself at the Festival of Bowling, and I'm thankful for all of my online friends, especially my fellow GSTDs :)
GSTDMaroon: I'm thankful for meeting some of the best people in the world through our sport of bowling and this forum. I believe we've become friends for life, and I wouldn't have it any other way :)
GSTDHammer: I'm thankful that my bowling equipment has lasted through another year. I'm also thankful for low airfares that make it easier to bowl with people across the country.
GSTDMaul: I'm thankful for the men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice so that we can be free, to be able to criticize our leaders without fear, and to be able to express our opinions on anything we wish. I'm thankful for Doc sewing my arm back into its socket after my ball attacked me in Reno.
GSTDSteveM: I am thankful that I have such wonderful friends and that I love my job.
And PokemonBowler, our littlest, unofficial GSTD, is thankful for (no surprise) Pokemon, strikes, bowling with the pros, and five days out of school!
***** Chat Schedule Offers Times for Everyone *****
If you need a break between all the holiday to-do's, feel free to drop into Bowling Chat. We'll help you remember when turkeys were something you did on the lanes, not something you never want to eat again. The Bowling Forum offers hosted chat six nights a week. Find the chat schedule at Bowling Chat (Available to AOL Members Only).
***** The Importance of Stretching *****
By George Freeman
When you watch a major league pitcher get on the mound, do you see him just walk on, let the batter get up, and then try to throw a 100mph fast ball? Of course not, he'd tear every muscle in his arm. Same principle goes for bowling. Stretching, getting the muscles in your body loose, not only helps your game, but safeguards you from unnecessary injuries. Squat to get your thighs and calves working. Then bend at the waist to loosen your back muscles. Work your arms to loosen them as well. Stretching the muscles will help you get warmed up faster as well. The better you take care of your muscles, the kinder they will be to you.
