- Under reaction -
- An under response of the ball not reacting violently to changes in the amount of oil present.
Uncle -
- The anchor player on a team that had a chance to "stick" a teammate with a beer frame, but did not strike.

- In competitive play, the amount of pins (including bonus, if any) that a player is scoring under a 200 average.

- A strike line that is straighter into the ball track with little belly.

- When a ball successfully moves over a high board.

United States Bowling Congress -
- The United States Bowling Congress officially began Jan. 1, 2005, as the organization to serve amateur adult and youth bowlers in the United States. It resulted from the merger of the American Bowling Congress, Women's International Bowling Congress, Young American Bowling Alliance and USA Bowling. Today, USBC serves more than three million members. The USBC is the national governing body for bowling as recognized by the United States Olympic Committee.
