Wisconsin Bowler Sets ABC Standard for Most 300 Games In A Season With 17

Al Zeitz Jr. of Racine, Wis., has broken the American Bowling Congress record for most 300 games in a bowling season with his 17th perfect game of 2000-01, on April 3.
Zeitz, 23, topped previous leader Jeff Carter of Sherman, Ill., who had 16 perfect games in the 1998-99 season.
He started his streak with two 300 games Oct. 3, 2000. He added one in November, two in January, eight in February, three in March and one in April. He had 18 perfect games before the 2000-01 season.
Zeitz rolled his 300s in four Racine centers - Castle Lanes, Plaza Bowling Center, Hillside Lanes and Paradise West Lanes. He has had his 300s in seven different leagues as well as two in the Racine Bowling Association Tournament.
California's Brian Garber Is Second Youngest 300 Bowler Ever

Brian Garber of Modesto, Calif., became the second-youngest person to roll a 300 game when he achieved the feat April 16.
The Young American Bowling Alliance member had his perfect game at age 10 years, 8 months old in the Video Mania League at Yosemite Lanes
Only Josey LaRocco of Louisville, Ky., rolled 300 at a younger age than Garber. LaRocco was 10 years, 6 months old when he had 300 on Feb. 14, 1998.
